The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) doesn’t look kindly on Superman’s stunt.

In a Facebook post, PDRM reminded people, especially the youth population of Malaysia who often finds joy in performing hazardous acts on how hazardous the Superman stunt can be.

“Motorcyclists especially young riders perform the dangerous ‘Superman’ stunt on the road in search of thrills continue to happen.

“Are they aware such actions not only endanger themselves but can affect other road users?” PDRM exhorted in the Facebook post.

Such stunt is considered an offense under Section 42(1) Road Transportation Act 1987.

Riders who are found guilty of performing such dangerous stunt on the road will end up with a fine not exceeding RM15,000 and a five-year jail term.

The post further informs that anyone convicted of such an offense will have their license revoked for five years.

‘Superman’ stunt is where the riders lie flat on their motorcycle seats and have their legs straightened, to imitate the way Superman flies.

Riding in such a manner diminishes the riders’ views of the road ahead and obstructs the riders’ ability to control their motorcycles.

Performing such dangerous stunt on the public road could lead to tragedy.

Recently, a teen rider was caught performing the ‘Superman’ stunt on East Coast Expressway (LPT1) by a local patrol officer patrolling the area at the time.

According to Malay Mail, he was so engrossed in the stunt that he didn’t notice the patrol officer recording his performance.

Upon realizing the presence of the patrol officer, he tried to escape, in an attempt to flee, the rider lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.
