Former MP Urge PAS To Practice Responsible Journalism

Former Kangar MP Noor Amin Ahmad gives Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) a crash course in reading and journalism.

“Reading, too, is a form of skill; hence, language tests incorporate comprehension component.

“We can see an example of how news framing is done by PAS media compared to media around the world that are more responsible,” he said via X post.

He also commented that he hasn’t even began to comment on the the way PAS media handle certain subject.

“That’s just the language, not yet about the subject being talked about,” he wrote in the same X post.

Back in 2019, social media was ablaze with a notice spilling the beans on PAS’s official newspaper, Harakah, racking up a hefty debt exceeding RM3 million.

The notice laid out the nitty-gritty details of Harakah’s debts for printing services, book production, and Siasah editions, totaling an eye-popping RM3,053,204.59. Signed off by the manager of NAJ Press at the time, it was reported that this towering debt had received the green light from none other than Harakah itself.

On 15 March, NAJ Press Resources (M) Sdn Bhd manager Hussin Jan, one of PAS ex printers for their news platform Harakah, revealed to Harapan Daily reporter that PAS has paid RM659,000 which settled part of their debt, however a debt exceeding RM2 million remains outstanding.
